I occasionally get the opportunity to make decorated cookies for my family and friends, which is always a pleasure because I can see their reaction myself when they open the box.  My grandpa’s 90^th birthday was no exception.   To add some details to the surprise occasion, I created custom decorated cookies using a young photo of him from his army days.  It was the perfect photo to create personalized, unique decorated cookies as favors as well as cupcake jewerly, which took the place of a typical birthday cake. 

I should also add that my grandpa is one of my biggest fans as he has saved all of the gourmet decorated cookies I have ever made him (since I started my business) and he literally has them lined up on his shelf like little trophies.  The irony of the situation it’s really me who is his biggest fan.   So, today, I’d like to dedicate this post to Grandpa DiChiara, who has been a top-notch, A+ grandpa to me and the rest of everyone in our family.   Thank you for everything you do for us.
