Decorated Cookies: Gumdrop goes Retro
When I first commissioned Ashley from Rippke Design to create designs for our holiday decorated cookies, I gave her a few guidelines, but nothing too specific, so I was excited to see what should would share with us.  When she sent me an email with a BUNCH of options for our gourmet decorated cookies I was so thrilled.  They were perfect!

From a design perspective, the designs all worked cohesively to offer as bundle and I loved the throwback retro style of the design.    These unique decorated cookies have been a huge hit so far.  In fact, I’ve worked with some clients to customize this design to create custom cookies that matches their own branding.  (more on that in another post!)

Decorated Cookies: Holiday “tweet” Cookies are here!

Our holiday decorated cookies have arrived!   While I love all the new designs, my favorite of the bunch is our new tweet hoiday series designed by Joan at Bitsy Creations. We take hints for our designs from what we see in home decor as well as fashion and birds are definitely at the top of the list this year.  We figured it would make sense to translate this popular symbol into unique decorated cookies.

We’ve included two options including a holiday design and a Hanukkah design, however, all of the text can be customized on these gourmet decorated cookies. Anyone who knows me, will tell you how much I am not a fan of clutter, which is why gourmet decorated cookies are the perfect gift in my book!

Custom Cookies: Come on everybody, let’s ride the train!

I recently worked with Carmen to create custom cookies for her upcoming wedding. She had a very specific design in mind for their cookie wedding favors : a modern yet whimsical design of Carmen and her then fiance Michael riding a train (Michael is a big fan of trains!) using the colors sage and brown.  To create these unique wedding favors, I tapped into one of my uber creative designers to bring the design to life and I think she did a great job. Masala Chai and Cookies

I took a brief two week break from posting and from decorated cookies, but I have a very good excuse as the hubby and I were on a much anticipated trip to India!   Thankfully, my baker helped fulfill orders for my hand decorated cookies while I was away.

India is a fascinating country and I’m still digesting everything we saw during our visit.  Cookies are not a popular dessert in India, but we managed to find some at the Oberoi Hotel in Agra while enjoying the ever-popular masala chai.   If you look in the background of the photo below, you can see the Taj Majal in the distance.

Brides Magazine recently featured our Cupcake Jewelry, which are a mini versions of our decorated cookies, as part of an article that offered suggestions about dressing up standard cupcakes.   The cupcakes for the photo shoot were made by the infamous Magnolia Bakery here in NYC and featured four other creative (edible and non-edible) ideas for adding a little WOW to your standard cupcakes.  They included:

Decorated Cookies: 90 never looked so sweet!

I occasionally get the opportunity to make decorated cookies for my family and friends, which is always a pleasure because I can see their reaction myself when they open the box.  My grandpa’s 90th birthday was no exception.   To add some details to the surprise occasion, I created custom decorated cookies using a young photo of him from his army days.  It was the perfect photo to create personalized, unique decorated cookies as favors as well as cupcake jewerly, which took the place of a typical birthday cake.

Hello! Welcome to the Gumdrop Cookies Shop Blog! We make delicious couture and custom cookies with beautiful and unexpected edible graphic designs. This blog is a way to display some of our favorite cookie projects as well as any sweet tid bits that we find along the way. We hope you'll read along.
